Shopping/Money Exchange

Shopping

The college is situated just outside the city centre approximately 20 minutes walk away. You’ll be able to visit the shops in the city centre in the evenings.

Most shops in the city are open Mondays-Fridays 0900-1800, Saturdays 1000-1600. The big department stores are also open on Sundays between 1000-1600.

Money Exchange

Sweden does not use the euro, it means that Euro’s (€) will have to be changed to Swedish currency (SEK). 1 € equals ~10 SEK (April 20th, 2010).

Currency exchange can take place at every bank or in the special currency exchange offices. FOREX is, perhaps, the best one in terms of availability and rates. You can, of course, also use all the common credit cards acknowledged by international standards.

Swedish currency can also be withdrawn from the ATM-machines using all major credit cards (Visa and Master Card preferably).
